Dr. Riasa was educated in Bali and attended the Udayana University School of Medicine. He then went on to furthering his education in Jakarta where he was Resident in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Indonesia University School of Medicine – Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital, Jakarta.
He also did a Post Graduate Fellowship Program, Program of Educational and Training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Showa University of Tokyo Japan.
He commenced his career as Government Medical Doctor on public health services in remote areas of Sulawesi Tenggara where he worked for 3 years.
He then worked as a Government doctor at the Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital in Jakarta and was Assistant/ trainee in plastic surgery at the Sub Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Indonesia University School of Medicine.
He is a very highly skilled and experienced surgeon and has attended many training sessions and workshops locally and internationally.
Dr. Riasa arrived back in Bali after the tragic bombing to assist those victims that had been severely injured by the bomb.
He is currently employed as Co-ordinator of the new Burns Unit and also staff member of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division, Udayana University School of Medicine and the Sanglah Hospital.
He is a very dedicated and devoted surgeon and has performed many operations for charity such as Cleft lip and palate.
It is the concern of Dr. Riasa of the financially unable at the new Burns Unit that this Yayasan was formed.
